City of the future

Explore Kazakhstan a city designed for the future

On a recent visit to Kazakhstan I was able to visit the new capital Astana. The capital was moved from Almaty, in the South Eastern part of Kazakhstan, to its current location Astana (about 18hrs bus from the Russian boarder).

Astana is only 13 years old as a capital city and is rapidly developing. With super malls (one which has a beach in it), futuristic buildings, and, as the new economic hub of the country, there’s a lot to see.

Unfortunately, most people live in the old part of Astana or in the old capital of Almaty. Here you’ll see that, although the buildings are incredible, there aren’t many people around to enjoy them.
